A True Thank You - Oklahoma Relief

As most of you already know, Close To My Heart is a very giving company and wants to help those in need. We have release one of our new stamps early to help in this aid. 100% of the profits from sales will go to the American Red Cross in this effort.

The details:  The tornado in Oklahoma has had a devastating effect and Close To My Heart wants to help. To aid relief efforts, Close To My Heart is making a new Autumn/Winter 2013 stamp set, A True Thank You ($2.95 retail), available immediately and will donate 100% of the profits from sales of the set from May 23 through June 30 to the American Red Cross. Help us provide relief to those affected by the Oklahoma tornado by promoting the A True Thank You stamp set (M1029) and this relief effort to all your customers.

Another Dream Pop layout

Don't throw those scraps away! Cut banners! Isn't this fun! I adhered them toward the bottom so my sewing machine wouldn't get sticky!

This was a really fun layout to do. I used a lot of the little scraps I had and kind of layered the banners and layered the scraps of paper under the picture!

More Dream Pop Samples

Happy National Scrapbooking Month to all of you! I am so excited about the promotion that runs through the end of May called Dream Pop. The previous post was my less girly color layout. Now I wanted to try using the other colors in the pack. Let me know what you think!

The first layout is just a single photo layout. I have some larger 5x5 instagram photos that I like putting in the center of the page. I am using lots of layers and trying to showcase all the colors that come in the paper pack.

I am really loving the washi tape! It just adds that little needed accent of dots that I think the page is needing! Also if you noticed I used lots of little scraps! Don't throw those away. Take those small pieces and layer them underneith your layout. It doesn't have to be a big piece at all. 

I think the secret to not having a huge bag or box of scraps is to use them! If you follow my blog you know that I make some layouts just of scraps! This layout is a great example of using all those little pieces of paper!

Here is another layout using the Dream Pop pack, this page I am using 4 photos from our Spring Break camping trip to Land Between the Lakes TN. Oh my goodness I can't wait to go back! Being unplugged for almost 10 days was awesome! I am ready to go back right now and sit out on the lake with my family and watch the sunset! No phones ringing, no internet, just my family and nature! What a great experience! 

Here is a tip to add more journaling: there is a sheet in the pack that has lined paper on one side. Take that paper (and don't be afraid to cut into it) and just a journal spot/square the size you need to add some journaling. I left the mint colored edge, but you can cut it off or mat it to another color. I really liked the orange and yellow on this page.

I like that this pack is pushing me to use colors and patterns that I wouldn't usually use in my normal scrapbooking. Once you add a little bit of grey, either from the washi tape or from the grey chevron paper, it tones down the bright colors. 

Hopefully I will have more layouts for you during the week. I am also working on a Project Life type layout using the divided page protectors! Thanks for stopping by!

National Scrapbook Day - Saturday May 4th 10am

Craft Fair and National Scrapbook Day

Hello Friends! Its been a long time! I am still here and still crafting! I am looking forward to a few upcoming events and I hope you will join me!

First of all, let me show you where I have been:

All I can say is that I was able to unplug for 10 days. Yes, 10 whole days and it was lovely! What a wonderful experience. Roscoe might have enjoyed it just as much as I did!

Now for my upcoming events. First up is the Christian Academy Spring Fling:

Bowling Green Christian Academy is throwing a Spring Fling. We will have a craft fair, inflatables, paintball, carnival games, a silent auction, food, and music. The event raises money for our Parent Teacher Organization.
